Flea Market Hunting : Mego Batman

As a really young kid one of my favourite collection was the Mego Pocket Heroes. I had lots of them but the coolest were the Spider-car that came along Spider-Man and Hulk and the Batmobile that of course came with Batman and Robin. I played with those for so much I pretty much killed them. Sadly I never kept them...

During a recent trip at the flea market I managed to find the late 1970s Pocket Heroes version of the Batmobile released by Mego. Its in almost perfect condition, with only the stickers and plastic "glass" window missing. I got it for extremely cheap! I've seen this going for around $90 on Ebay. Here it is in all its glory!

Here is the original box as I remember it when I got back in the late 1970s! Also thanks to the great Mego Museum web site, here are some images of the vehicles and figures. I remember playing with these! Now I need to find them again.

  1. Oh wow! Jealous! I love Mego, especially the Batman stuff released by the company. I have a couple of Mego Batman figures, both 8 and 12 inch, a Joker, Penguin and Batmobile. Congrats on such a sweet find.

You can find Repo stickers for the batmobile on ebay or try Dr. Mego, who makes high quality repo stickers as well as other accessories. I have bought from him before and he's top notch.

    1. Cool! I will check it out for stickers. Thanks!

I wish I had kept all of my Mego from back in the days. Had some 12" figures like Hulk and Batman.

  2. I had a few of these Pocket Megos, and when I was Isaac's age, I had the full-sized Mego Batmobile with Batman & Robin. LOVED Mego! Nice find!
