Star Wars

While doing the groceries we found out that some of the Star Wars spaceships were on liquidation.... $7 instead of $30! So yeah, without any hesitation we decided to pick up the ones were didn't owned... yet!

First was Anakin's Jedi Starfighter. This is a very cool ship. There is a room to place your R2 unit. It can also split itself in two vehicles! Plus it fires projectiles!

Green Lantern

A few weeks ago before the film came out in theaters, the Green Lantern action figures arrived at our local Toys R US. We already own the original Kenner SuperPowers Green Lantern, which is cooler then any of the new ones but we had to get something.

Enter Kilowog, another of the Green Lanterns, defenders of the galaxy. While not really fully articulated its an ok figure. Mattel could have been better but then it came with a ring so I guess it is not that bad!

Spider-Man

We recently got a amazingly cool Venom action figure! It is part of the new Spider-Man collection from Hasbro. This Venom is superbly sculpted and looks rather scary. It comes with a removable stretchy arm that can attack his enemies. We're both happy to finally own a 3 3/4" version of probably the coolest Marvel anti-hero!

So this was our first journey at the Montreal Comic Con. The next one will be in September. One last thing, on our way out we meet a dude who has created himself a very cool Ghostbusters Proton Pack! Isaac was lucky enough to try it!!

Comic Con : Star Wars

As expected we did get some Star Wars action figures but sadly only two. First is the Emperor from Revenge of the Sith. Its our third version of the character and this is probably the scariest one yet! Next is Han Solo as a Stormtrooper. Isaac was extremely happy to find this one, now we need Luke in disguise too!

Isaac owns over 150 Star Wars figures now!

Comic Con : Swamp Thing

Another cool action figure we got was the Bio-Glow Swamp Thing figure from Kenner. This is a glow in the dark action figure. It is not the most exciting one but Isaac was happy to get a new DC Comics character!

Comic Con : Masters of the Universe

Another very cool Masters of the Universe action figure we got was the Samurai Skeletor released in 2003 by Mattel. The Overlord of Evil is superbly detailed and sculpted! You can push a button on his back for sword slash or power punch. It also shoots missiles and comes with lots of accessories like those killer was boots!!

Comic Con : Masters of the Universe

In 2002 Mattel reinvented the classic Masters of the Universe collection for a second time. Along with the cool new animated series, these new action figurines were superbly sculpted by Four Horsemen. Isaac recently got into MOTU so getting some figures was the next logical step!

Released in 2033, this Wave 4 Martial-Arts He-Man comes with lots of cool weapon and looks incredibly good!

Comic Con : Spawn

Isaac recently got into Spawn! I gave him the three Spawn action figures I owned. Now we're on the hunt to find more...

At the Comic Con we got the very cool Cy-gor figure from Series 4 of MacFarlane's original Spawn collection. Released in 1996, this detailed action figure has become one of Isaac's favorite!

The Lord of the Rings

While we didn't get this LOTR action figure at the Comic Con, I just remembered that we had never posted anything about it.

A great friend of mine gave Isaac his very first LOTR action figure a few months ago, Frodo Baggins. He is the main protagonist of The Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. He was a hobbit of the Shire who inherited Sauron's Ring from Bilbo Baggins and undertook the quest to destroy it in the fires of Mount Doom.

Comic Con : The Lord of the Rings

Forget about his small height, Gimli is one of the key character in The Lord of the Rings. This is a cool looking figure with axe-throwing action feature. It is nicely detailed and almost as scary as some of the bad guys!

Comic Con : The Lord of the Rings

While the bad guys in The Lord of the Rings universe are wicked cool, some of the good guys are almost as cool! One that we really wanted was Aragorn. We got the 6" version from The Two Towers. It comes with "real" arrow launching action which more of less work! Overall it is a cool and detailed action figure.

Comic Con : The Lord of the Rings

The other bad guy was a very cool Ringwraith action figure! Probably some of the scariest characters among Tolkien' stories, this is a beautifully rendered and detailed action figure. We both love it!

Comic Con : The Lord of the Rings

Probably some of the coolest bad guys in The Lord of the Rings universe are the Uruk-Hai. A super race of evil warriors created Saruman. This is another extremely detailed and rather scary action figure that comes with a sword and shield.

Comic Con : The Lord of the Rings

A few months ago, Isaac started to get into The Lord of the Rings films. We watched all three extended version and he loved it! I guess the next logical step was to get some LOTR action figures!

At the Comic Con we got a couple of awesome LOTR action figure. First one was a 6" Saruman! its a beautifully detailed figure of the character played by the legendary Christopher Lee. It has twelve points of articulation. A small lever on the right side of the figure raises his right arm and staff when pressed. A very cool small magnet in his left hand allows him to "hold" the floating Palantir.

Comic Con : Ghostbusters

One of the very first genre film Isaac got into was Ghostbusters! Not too long ago we found the very cool Frankenstein action figure. At the Comic Con we managed to find the even cooler Mummy figure!

Released by Kenner in 1989, this 6" is one of the coolest of the Monsters series. His head pops up, while his arm falls off! We want them all!

Comic Con : Batman

At the Comic Con we got the very cool and highly detailed Two-Face/Harvey Dent action figure based on The Dark Knight film by Christopher Nolan. This is a very cool and rather rare figure.

Comic Con : McFarlane's King Kong

For months we've been hoping to find a King Kong action figure. Thank you Comic Con as we managed to find the amazing King Kong Deluxe figure from McFarlane Toys released years ago as part of their Movie Maniacs 3 collection in 2003.

From what I have read online, this is almost impossible to find! I have to say that it is one of the coolest, best detailed and sculpted figure in our collection. Standing over 9" tall, he comes with silver metal chains and one scary look!

Comic Con : Ben 10

Our first discoveries at the Comic Con were some Ben 10 action figures. We got another 3" 3/4 version of Upgrade along with a very cool 6" Heatblast which illuminates itself!

Upgrade is a Galvanic Mechomorph (mecho- meaning machine and -morph meaning shape) of the moon Galvan B, which orbits Galvan Prime.

Heatblast is a Pyronite (pyro meaning fire and "nite" as in ignite) from the star Pyros. Heatblast is Ben's first transformation, accidentally activated in the pilot episode of the original series.

Comic Con

Isaac and I went to our very first Comic Con in Montreal a few weeks ago. I learned about it the night before on the internet, so first thing in the morning when I woke up my little man was to tell him about it. Both extremely excited we got there quickly... what an amazing day!

Lots of cosplays, comics, and toys for us to go crazy over! We ended up finding some of the coolest action figures (more about that in the coming days) but Isaac also got his picture taken with Darth Vader and others!

I am Iron Man

My son loves Iron Man! When the sequel came out we went to see it in theater and he was the only three years old there! Through all this he also became a big fan of Black Sabbath! Not only for their song "Iron Man" but also of the whole Paranoid album!
