Isaac's fourth birthday: Batman

Another very cool Fisher Price Hero World item my friends got for Isaac's birthday is the awesome Batman Batcycle that comes with a Batman figure. As you turn the "actionator" on, the wings of the Batcycle pop out... taking the enemies out!

Seriously this new DC Super Friends collection is amazing!

Isaac's fourth birthday: Batman

My son is extremely lucky as great friends of mine (Stephanie and David) got him some Fisher Price's Hero World DC Super Friends action figures for his birthday! These Toys R Us exclusive figures are not yet available in Canada (they got them in New York).

These 5" figures are reminiscent of the Fisher Price Imaginext collection but bigger. Batman comes with Batwings which actually open themselves thanks to a special "actionator". He also throws Batarang at his enemies. Its an extremely detailed and cool looking action figure.

Iron Man's Whiplash

One impossible to find action figure here in Canada is the Iron Man 2 version of Mickey Rourke as Whiplash! But we finally did find one used at the local Legends store. It comes with poseable and adjustable whips. This is one bad ass 3 3/4 inch figure that Isaac loves like crazy!

Megamind

Two weeks ago after seeing the latest animated film from Dreamworks, we went to McDonald's. Not surprisingly the Happy Meal was featuring Megamind. We managed to score the anti-hero of the film who comes with a big robotic armor. Its a nice yet simple figure. As for the film itself, Isaac and I laughed a couples of times and that was about it.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Star Wars

One very cool thing Isaac got for his birthday was a Yoda long sleeve shirt from his uncle and aunt. I had taken pictures during his birthday but all were blurry. Now here he is, the young Jedi, with his lightsaber and cool shirt.

ToyCon

I just noticed that I had another very cool picture, this one taken when we arrived home from the ToyCon. Here is Isaac with all the stuff we found at the ToyCon! There sure is a lot of cool action figures in there and since its was his birthday we got more then we originally should!

Also this is our 205th posts! Thank you to everyone who read our little blog!

ToyCon

So that was the October 2010 ToyCon in Montreal. We had a great time, bought lots of cool stuff and took some cool pictures! Here's one of Isaac with two of his favorites! Can't wait for the next one in May 2011!

ToyCon : Marvel

Two Marvel action figures we got at the ToyCon were the Punisher and Kraven.

This Punisher was released by Toy Biz in 1990 as part of their very first Marvel Superheroes collection. It is not the best looking Punisher but he does feature "cap firing weapons".

The other one was the 1994 Toy Biz version of Spider-Man's villain, Kraven. It supposedly features "spear throwing action" but we haven't figured it how. This Kraven was based on the Animated Series.

Our collection of Marvel based action figures is growing!

ToyCon : Star Wars

Two other cool Star Wars action figures we got at the ToyCon was the AT-AT driver along with the AT-ST driver. We've been looking for the AT-ST driver for a long time now. Isaac was so happy to finally get him! He was also one of my favorite as a kid.

ToyCon : Star Wars

One Star Wars action figure we were looking for was Grand Moff Tarkin. The evil Governor in the original 1977 classic portrayed by the late great British actor Peter Cushing.

ToyCon : Star Wars

One very cool figure we got at the ToyCon is the Star Wars Force Battlers General Grievous! Its a very cool figure that comes with four lightsabers. Its a tall figure, with some nice details but we are having problem keeping it standing up.

He now joins our Playskool Jedi Force collection.

ToyCon : Ghostbusters

One action figure that my son found at the ToyCon and that he seriously hasn't put down is the Bug-Eye Ghost monster released in 1987 by Kenner for their extremely popular Ghostbusters collection. In the middle of his forehead is this huge eyeball, which promptly shoot at you upon pressing on his back.

Needles to say that it has become one of Isaac's most favorite and prized figure. Even slowly transforming my son into a somewhat ectoplasm kid!

ToyCon : Daredevil

One Marvel action figure we were missing was Daredevil. Well at the ToyCon we scored the 2002 6" Daredevil action figure released by Toy Biz as part of their Marvel legends Series III collection. It originally came with a 32-page comic book (issue #164).

We are now happy to own a figure of The Man Without Fear!

ToyCon : Batman

As you all know, my son and I love the Batman universe! One action figure we got at the ToyCon was Man-Bat. This is actually our second version of the character. This version is from The Batman collection.

Man-Bat (real name Dr. Robert Kirkland Langstrom aka Kirk Langstrom) first appeared in Detective Comics #400, illustrated by Neal Adams.

ToyCon : Star Wars

One Star Wars figure we've been looking forward to get for sometime now was the Rancor keeper. While he doesn't do much in Return of the Jedi we seriously needed him... especially since we recently found the original 1983 Rancor monster creature.

Well Isaac discovered him, sealed and in perfect condition at the ToyCon... for only $5! There was no doubt that we would buy it. Now Malakili can live side by side with his enormous carnivorous friend!

ToyCon : Star Wars

A very cool Star Wars action figure we got at the ToyCon is a rather strange looking "ghost" character which I don't remember ever seeing in the films.

Eli Helrot was (supposedly) in the Cantina sequence in the original 1977 classic film. Not much is known about him but he is a cool figure. My son loves him and Eli has become the center of our Star Wars universe.

ToyCon : Star Wars

Another Ralph McQuarrie inspired Star Wars action figure we got was Darth Vader! I've always though that McQuarrie's original design was way more cooler and especially menacing then how Vader ended up looking in the film.

And I have got to admit that I actually got this figure more for myself then for Isaac! On the photo above, Isaac was making yet another of his "bad guy" face! Hilarious!!

ToyCon : Star Wars

Another very cool Star Wars action figure we got at the ToyCon was the Ralph McQuarrie original version of Chewbacca!

When he first saw it, Isaac told me; "This is not Chewbacca!". So I explained to him that this was the way Chewbacca was meant to be at first. Now he loves him!

Its a beautifully detailed figure that comes with two guns and a Star Wars coin!

ToyCon : Star Wars

As expected we got lots of Star Wars action figures at the ToyCon.

One we were missing was a Dark Trooper. While I am not a fan of the Expended Universe, this is one character that simply looks too cool not to own. They first appeared in the Star Wars Dark Forces classic video game release by LucasArts in 1995. Here is Isaac making a bad guy face!

This bulky trooper comes with a huge gun, backpack and a Star Wars coin! He is joining our ever growing army of troopers ready to fight the Rebellion.

ToyCon : Marvel

We got a very cool Apocalypse action figure released by Toy Biz in 1995. This 5" figure has removable arms, transforming limbs, cape and other accessories. It came out as part of their X-Men After Xavier The Age of Apocalypse collection. It is in great condition, complete and we got it for only $4.

ToyCon : Ben 10

Two weeks ago the Montreal ToyCon was happening and as always Isaac and I had to go! I have to say that it was by far the most expensive one for me and I had to stopped myself from buying more cool stuff... it was getting crazy!

As I have mentioned before, old Ben 10 figures are unfortunately almost impossible to find. Thankfully we managed to find one at the ToyCon.

The powerful Four Arms is from the original Ben 10 cartoon. He was one of the original alien from the Omnitrix watch. Isaac and I love Ben 10 and this was a cool first find at ToyCon.
