Star Wars Power of the Force Action Figures

Another week, another Star Wars Power of the Force action figure for my incredible three years old son! One figure he kept asking me to have was Lando Carlissian. Ever since unlocking this character in Lego Star Wars and seeing him in Empire Strike Back and especially Return of the Jedi, my son wanted a Lando figure. Well now its done.

Flea Market Hunting & Toys R Us: Star Wars

With the beautiful weather outside, we decided to make a quick stop at the flea market. For only $10 we got a very cool Star Wars Battlefront II Droid pack which contains seven droid figures including a very cool Super Battle Droid that we've been searching for months. The girl was selling it in the original box, and in perfect condition. We also found Qui-Gon Jinn figure from The Phantom Menace.

On our way back, we stopped at Toys R Us. Sadly they had problems with the cashier so we could only pay with cash. But we did get a Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker figure.

Sectaurs + Thundercats

Among the action figures that my cousin gave to my son, there was numerous Sectaurs and one Thundercat.

Released in 1985 by Coleco, Sectaurs Warriors of Symbion was a very cool action figure line, with each ones came with an insect companion and comic book. Some of these insect were big enough so that the Sectaur could actually ride them, like a puppet. The prince and hero of the good guys was called Dargon. For me what struck me the most from the Sectaurs were the TV commercials, which I rank among the best ever. It actually featured a story and a cliffhanger so that you had to watch the next one a few weeks later.

One of my brother's favorite action figures collection as a kid was the Thundercats. He had lots of them. Produced by the legendary Rankin/Bass Productions, Thundercats had one of the coolest TV show at the time. In 1985, the TV show and first action figures were released by LJN. Now my son just ended up with a superbly well preserved Lion-O figure. I do plan on watching the animated series with my son in a near future.

Vintage Star Wars

Not too long ago, a cousin of mine send me a message that while moving his parents had found a box with some action figures! Immediately thinking about my son I told him that we would take it all. Last weekend, my son and I went downtown to meet with my cousin and another treasure was all ours!

I'd say that Star Wars is a priority in my house. We basically, eat, sleep Star Wars. Play action figures, read Star Wars books, play Star Wars games on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii, colouring and drawing Star Wars characters, wear Star Wars clothes... I could go on. So my son and I were both extremely happy to get some vintage Star Wars action figures and accessories!

My cousin gave us a Tauntaun, Stormtrooper's Patrol Dewback, AT-ST that still works, the extremely cool Darth Vader figure case and action figures of Leia, Hoth Luke and HammerHead. These are all vintages, so with the help of some crazy glue that are now almost like brand new! Thank you Daphney!

Star Wars

With the extremely hot and especially humid temperature here in the usually cold north of Canada, we went shopping for an air conditioner. First thing my son asked when we entered the store was if there was some toys in here. I told him that if he was nice (like he always is) we will go see.

Not surprisingly his choice ended up being a Star Wars action figure, this time Count Dooku from the Clone Wars TV series. Isaac loves the bad guy, and Dooku is one of the coolest. He comes with a hologram, his twisted sword and a retractable hand that shots electricity. Needless to say that this is now his favorite Star Wars figure.

Twelve inches fun: Spider-Man

Spider-Man was probably the very first superhero that my son got into. Peter Parker's alter ego has everything for a kid to love. A cool look, costume, attitude and some of the most interesting and colorful villains in any comics.

My son is shown here with a 14" Spider-Man figure I got when the third film came out. Sure he wasn't even born back then but now its all is. Spider-Man 3 is probably the film I've seen the most with my son. Also in there is an 10" Carnage figure from the Famous Covers collection released in the 1990s I think. I got this from Ebay for very cheap a couple of months ago. Now we need more big sized Spider-Man figures...

Montreal ToyCon: Batman

My son Isaac loves Batman, with Spider-Man he is probably his favorite superhero. We already own the Batcave/Wayne Manor, Batmobile, Batcycle and most of the characters of the Batman universe but two were missing.

Ever since he saw the Batman & Robin film from Joel Schumacker, he's been asking me to find a figure of Poison Ivy and Batgirl. Well lucky enough we find both of them at the ToyCon, sealed and in perfect condition for only $5 each. We immediately got them and it made his day, but they didn't stay sealed for long!

Montreal ToyCon: Star Wars

For sometime now my son has been a Star Wars fan. But I have to admit that ever since he's been playing the Lego Star Wars game on the Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo Wii, he has graduated from a young Padawan to a Jedi. He's a total Star Wars geek... at three years old, amazing!

So at the Montreal ToyCon he wanted to get some Star Wars action figures and we did. We ended up getting 10 figures, mostly between $1 to $3 but General Grevious was an expensive $12 but Isaac was dying to own him so we got him. Darth Maul and Leia in "bikini" from Return of the Jedi was the other two he kept asking me... yeah he loves Leia!

We also got Leia with her Boushh bounty hunter suit brand new and sealed and Isaac was crazy since her recognized her from the Lego video game.

We also got the Stormtrooper's reptilian they are using in A New Hope. This new updated version looks way cooler then the one I owned as a kid.

That same night we watch Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope again, back to back. I have the coolest son in the galaxy!

Montreal ToyCon

Yesterday was our fourth time at the Montreal ToyCon. My son and I had a lot of fun and bought some very cool new action figures. Today I've decided to post the pictures I took of Isaac with various costumed characters in attendance. Whenever he saw one walking around, he asked me to have his picture taken with... but we did missed out a few like Batman and Batgirl.

Isaac with Jedi master Plo Koon who was there while we waited in line to get in.

Isaac with a Clone Trooper.

Isaac with Spider-Man.

Isaac with a Biker Scout soldier.

Isaac with another Clone Trooper and an original Stormtrooper (one of his favorite).

Isaac with an Imperial "snow" Trooper and bounty hunter Dengar.

Montreal ToyCon

We survived the Spring 2010 Montreal ToyCon! This was our fourth time and probably the coolest of them all. We arrived 15 minutes before the door opened so we got a good selection of what we wanted. In the next days I'll go through all of the action figures we got there and the awesome "cosplay" (fans in costumes) we met. But for now, here's Isaac with a quick look at what we got!

Flea Market Hunting: Imaginext

Yesterday we made a quick stop at the flea market. With the weather not being that great there wasn't that many tables but we did managed to get an Imaginext Walking Spinosaurus for only $5 (it goes for $55 on Amazon). Standing at 16 inches tall, this is a huge dinosaure!

My son loves the Fisher Price Imaginext collection, they are well made, nicely sculpted and a lotta fun! He has tons of them at his mom's place too including the huge boat and Batman and his Batmobile. Here he is with his two Imaginext dinosaures.

And we are now getting ready for the Montreal ToyCon, which is happening today! We hope to find most of the action figures we want... this might be getting insane but sure will be a lotta fun!

Twelve inches fun: Pulsar Ultimate Man of Adventure

One of my personal all time favorite action figure is the ultimate enemy of Pulsar... Hypnos! Released by Mattel in 1976 or 1977, Pulsar is a muscular bad guy that wears a killer mask. You can activate the "Hypnotic Powers" by pressing the switch on the side of him. Thanks to his see through transparent chest, you too can be hypnotize if you look at the hypnotic spinning disk on his chest. Sparks actually fly from his chest... now just how cool is that!

As kids, my brother and I each owned a Hypnos figure but we sadly never got Pulsar... it is probably why we both grew up so fucked up a few years later... due to our lack of ever owning the ultimate man of adventure Pulsar.

Not too long ago I spotted a loose Hypnos (sadly sans his mask) on Ebay and immediatly got it. Needless to say that my son absolutely loves him! In our universe of twelves inches action figures, Hypnos is one that actually kick ass!

Star Wars Power of the Force Action Figures

Another week, another Star War Power of the Force action figure.

Like all little boys into Star Wars, my son loves Luke Skywalker. There is something about this character that makes him important and enjoyable for everyone as we can see parts of us through him. This week I gave my son the X-Wing pilot Luke Skywalker and he absolutely loves him.

One of the better looking figure of the early Power of the Force figures, Luke comes with a pistol and lightsaber. Now all we are missing is the actual X-Wing... my brother still has our original X-Wing, which will soon be part of my son's collection!

Twelve inches fun: The Incredibles

My son and I love all of the Pixar movies. We must have watched some of them over fifty times. Well not too long ago we got a very cool 12" figure of Mr. Incredible. If you press on the symbol on his chest, Mr. Incredible talks some phrases from the actual film. Sure the figure doesn't do much but its still very cool.

Star Wars

After taking our weekly trip to the local Toy R Us, we decided to venture ourself to the Legends Action Figures store in Montreal. This is probably the coolest store in the Montreal area. Located on St-Hubert street it has tons of cool stuff!

Of course my son wanted some Star Wars figures. He had been asking me for a Boba or Jango Fett with a removable helmet. Lucky for him there was one left of Jango released in 2007, with a removable helmet. We also got a very neat IG-86 Assassin droid from The Clone Wars collection.

The used Star Wars section was huge with tons of amazingly cool figures and vehicules. We got the original Slave-I released in 1980 from The Empire Strike Back. Sure its missing some pieces but I had the exact same model as a kid... even missed the exact same pieces! My son was crazy when I told him we we're buying it. He loves Boba Fett and this sure made his day as we played all afternoon with them.

Here's our Jango and Boba Fett figures with their spaceship!

And at the Legends store I saw that they were selling the Batcave we recently got for $7 at the flea market for $129.99!!!! Crazy!

As for the film we saw last night, we both loved it! IRON MAN 2 is the perfect exemple of a sequel done right.

It takes the ideas, characters and basics of the first film and elevates them to a new higher level.

Glad that they dealt with Tony's drinking problem, Cheadle did a good job, Rourke was amazing as Whiplash. The special fx were incredible!!

Fast, loud and action packed, IRON MAN 2 is yet another comic geek dreams come true! All the little details are there like Captain America's shield and more (be sure to stay after all the credits).

Twelve inches fun: Incredible Hulk

A couple of months ago we got a very cool 12" Incredible Hulk Smashin Stompin electronic figure. When you press the button on his stomach, Hulk says phrases and makes roaring sounds. Squeeze his legs to activate the smashing action fists and have his eyes glow in gamma charged mode. This is a huge figure that actually weights more then all the others we own.

And tonight we will be seeing Iron Man 2 in theaters!

Twelve inches fun: Star Wars Collector Series

As a kid I've always wanted some of these amazing 12" Star Wars figures... unfortunately I never got to owned any of them. A couple of months ago I've noticed some dirty cheap 12" Star Wars Collector Series figures released in the late 1990's. I bid on all three and won them!

Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Tusken Rider arrived at our door, mint and inbox but within seconds we had all three opened and we're playing with them on the floor. Sure these aren't the coolest looking figures but for my son and I but they are our very first 12" Star Wars figures... and not the last ones!

Geek for Life

One of my favorite blog just mentioned us a few days ago. Geek for Life is a must read for the inner child in all of us.

I'd like to thank "The Creep" for spreading the good words about our little blog. Part of the creation of Fully Jointed Play Figures was to bound even more with my son and share a common passion. After the separation with his mother, things were extremely tough for both of us... I guess we had no choices but to spend our time and money on action figures!

Thanks again!

Flea Market Hunting: Superman & Spider-Man

Always loved 12" figures.  They are huge and a lot of fun to play with. We got a very cool Ultimate Powers Superman 12" figure at the flea market last weekend. It features three different play modes, makes sounds (he actually says phrases from the Superman Returns film) and lights itself. It is nicely sculpted, and the punch feature is a neat idea.

Like all the boys of his age, my son loves Spider-Man. We already owned most of the villains of the Spider-Man universe but one we were missing was Hobgoblin. Standing at 6" tall, this is a very cool figures with lots of details, articulated parts and it actually look somewhat menacing!

Flea Market Hunting: Batman

One of the coolest action figure we got at the flea market is a 6" Batman from The Dark Knight movie by Christopher Nolan. He is nicely sculpted, with lots of details and looks like Christian Bale. We also got the very cool Bat-Pod motorcycle that he uses in the film.

Needless to say that my son was extremely happy as we recently got the Batmobile and Batcave.

Flea Market Hunting: Spider-man, G.I.Joe & Sectaur

One of the very first superhero my son got into was Spider-man. At our trip at the flea market over the weekend we got two Spider-man action figures. One of Peter Parker transforming himself and the other of our friendly neighborhood.

My son is slowly getting into G.I.Joe. He recently got his very first figure, which was Snake Eyes and at the flea market we got one of Zartan's henchman and one of Cobra-La's disciple.

Always been a big fan of the Sectaur as a kid so I was glad to find a figure of Dargon. Here he stole He-Man's Battlecat for a walk to the parc...

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

One of our mission yesterday was to get as many Star Wars as possible. We ended up getting seven Star Wars action figures with prices between 50 cents to one buck. Luke in snow suit, an Ewok, Wedge, Obi-Wan, Jango (that makes sounds) are among some of the ones we got.

We also get Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter spaceship from Episode II Attack of the Clones. It is very cool, has opening wings and fires missiles. This is my son very first Star Wars vehicule.

Flea Market Hunting

My son and I went flea market hunting and came out with what is probably our largest set of action figures we ever got from there. We got lots of Star Wars, G.I.Joe, Batman, Spider-man, Sectaur and Superman! In the coming days I'll go into all the details of what we exactly got!
