LJN's Dungeons And Dragons collection was amazing. We still own some of the ones I had as a kid.

Remco released the best of the Masters of the Universe "clones", The Warlord was my favourite.

A very cool Figma of Nintendo's Metroid Samus was released a few years ago.

Here's a gorgeous statue of Samus from the Metroid video game.

Zardoz! Yes this is based on the Sean Connery film.

Back in the 1980s, Tonka made these cool WWF Wrestling Buddies.

One of the greatest action figure of all time was released by LJN as part of the Dungeons And Dragons collection... Warduke!

My brother went to our parents' place and found these in the basement.

Mumm-ra's helmet, wrestler Savio Vega, many Secret Wars shields, Super Powers weapons, the dad from Kenner's Treehouse playset, one M.U.S.C.L.E and more. Very cool!

We got another Zarak. He is an Evil-Half Orc Assassin from the Dungeons And Dragons action figures collection from LJN. Guess we will be building an army of those now.

We finally found another Dungeons And Dragons action figure. Saw hello to Zarak. He is an Evil-Half Orc Assassin. He originally came with a yellow dagger. He is a cool and highly detailed figure.

I really hope that we soon find more like Grimsword!

Kim's Bad Guys Dream Team

And here is my Bad Guys Dream Team!

Thanos is their almighty leader. Not a big surprise here considering I've been a fan of this cosmic being since the comic days. This is by far my favourite version of the Mad Titan.

Spawn's Sansker and the Rancor are the two brutes of the group. They are big, bad and strong! One of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coolest enemies in there, Slash. And lets not forget... Warduk. One of my all time favourite character.

I recently decided to showcase some of our action figures collection in our living room.

Everything from Star Wars, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Adventure People, Dungeons And Dragons, Grendizer, Ghostbusters, Toxic Crusaders, Chuck Norris, Thundercats, Masters of the Universe, Gremlins and other hard to find figures found a new home where they are now all proudly displayed.

1- Marvel Universe Galactus
"I Am Devourer Of Worlds!" - Galactus
It was after Isaac's very first trip at the dentist that I decided to take him to the coolest action figures store in Montreal, Legends. Lo and behold was Galactus standing there, waiting for us. This amazing electronic figure measures a mammoth 19" tall and features cosmic lights and fearsome phrases.

This huge figure is extremely well sculpted and detailed. Purple, light and dark blue, some black paint work is flawless. It is also well articulated (about 24 points) and says a total of eleven phrases! Push his chest button and he speaks and his eyes and helmet jewels light up yellow. And let's not forget the very cool 3 ¾" scale Silver Surfer action figure it comes with.

2- Batman Arkham Asylum
We are both addicted to the amazing Batman Arkham Asylum video game! Developed by Rocksteady Studios, this is without a doubt the best superheroes video game ever. Well scripted, stunning environments, kick ass fighting engine, Batman Arkham Asylum is amazing! I managed to find the first series of action figures at a local comic store. Santa also got more Arkham Asylum and even Arkham City figures for Christmas (more on that soon!).

3- Fisher Price Imaginext Batman
Last summer I finally gave in an ordered directly from Fisher Price online all of the Imaginext Batman figures we were missing. Just as expected this is an amazing collection from Fisher Price and hopefully they will continue it for years to come.

4- Godzilla
Bandai released those huge figures in 2007 but I was never able to find them anywhere. Finally found them at the ToyCon! Godzilla and friends have their dedicated place in our living room and every day stories.

5- Lego NinjaGo
For Christmas Santa gave Isaac the great Lego NinjaGo Fire Temple. Took me three hours to build this massive 1200 blocks set. It comes with a beautifully designed dragon, seven mini figures, traps and tons of cool stuff.

Favourite Retro Toys of 2011

1- LJN Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
As a kid I loved those! Unfortunately apart from one I lost them all. Needless to say that I was extremely happy to find Strongheart, Warduk and others at the flea market and for pennies! They are beautiful figures.

2- LJN Thundercats
My brother was a huge fan of the original Thundercats. We found some great ones at the flea market and hopefully will get more this spring when it opens again. Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats!

3- M.U.S.C.L.E.
Another collection my brother was into. We found a bag with tons of them at the flea market. These are Isaac favourite figures to play with while taking his bath.

4- Fisher Price Adventure People
Fisher Price never stop to amazing. Its like they always made amazing toys. One goal in 2012 is to find more of these.

5- Playmates Toxic Crusaders
I was a Toxic fan when the original Troma movie came out but never got into the cartoon. With Isaac its a different story, he loves Toxic and all of the bad guys we found.

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...

A few weeks ago, Isaac wanted to have a big melee fight with all of this action figures that are part of various collections that are actually all mixed together in one big box!

Ghostbusters, Lone Ranger, Dungeons And Dragons, Toy Story, Toxic Avenger, G.I.Joe, Bakugan, Steel Monsters, Guitar Hero, Adventure People and countless others took possession of our home and unleashed their destruction all around!

Great times we had as Isaac and I came up with some of the craziest stories and twists ever!

Flea Market Hunting: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons

The other Advanced Dungeons & Dragons action figure we got during at our last trip at the flea market was the 5" tall Ogre King from the second series. The figure originally came with lots of accessories like a sword, mace, belt and helmet. Overall a cool figure.

Flea Market Hunting: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons

Probably one of the coolest action figures collection of the 1980's were the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons! As a kid I owned lots of them but sadly lost them all apart from one.

During our last trip at the flea market we found some! I was actually going through Ebay recently trying to find these. Now I found them for a buck each, amazing!

The seller had two Warduke, and without any hesitation I took both! It one of my all time favorite action figure! It originally came with a shield with a monster's skull on it, and a silver/yellow magical sword. He was released in the 1st Series and 2nd Series of AD&D.

There is also Strongheart, the good Paladin! Its another beautifully sculpted figure! He came with a glittering blue cape and a silver sword. We also got another one which will be feature in another post.

Dungeons and Dragons has spawned one of the best 1980's toy line and a magnificent animated series! Sadly the D&D toys were rarely incorporated into the series which aired after most the toys came out. The figures were produced by LJN, and are some of the best detailed, imaginative and colorful figures produced to this date. LJN and TSR also created some of the best fantasy characters, dragons, and monsters that you will ever see.

LJN was chosen to create the TSR Advanced Dungeons & Dragons action figures in 1982. LJN was the best qualified to produce toys with quality, detail and color. LJN had done a incredible job with the first Advanced Dungeons & Dragons line up. The figures themselves ranged from variuos humans, to Ogre's and Dwarf's.

22 action figures, 7 creatures and 1 playset were produced over a little more than 2 years. There were many figures and creatures that were held back and ended up never being produced.

The D&D toy line also consists of a PVC toy line, a bendy toy line, and a wind-ups. There were more than 45 different figures in these set, allowing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons to be one of the largest toy lines made in the 80's.
