Saturday Movie

Isaac and myself love movies. Now every Saturday we will quickly talk about a movie we recently watched. Hope you enjoy and share in your views with us.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Sauron's forces have laid siege to Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, in their efforts to eliminate the race of men. With the final battle joined and the legions of darkness gathering, Gandalf urgently tries to rally Gondor's broken army to action. Their hopes rest with Frodo, a tiny but determined hobbit making a perilous trip across treacherous enemy lands to cast the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom.

The final chapter in the amazing trilogy.

Frodo and Sam continue their journey towards Mordor to destroy the One Ring, meeting and joined by Gollum, the ring's former owner. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli come to the war-torn nation of Rohan and are reunited with the resurrected Gandalf, before fighting at the Battle of Helm's Deep. Merry and Pippin escape capture, meet Treebeard the Ent, and help to plan an attack on Isengard.

A great continuation of the first film as director Peter Jackson delivers another amazing spectacle.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

The future of civilization rests in the fate of the One Ring, which has been lost for centuries. Powerful forces are unrelenting in their search for it. But fate has placed it in the hands of a young Hobbit named Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), who inherits the Ring and steps into legend. A daunting task lies ahead for Frodo when he becomes the Ringbearer - to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged.

Director Peter Jackson gave us a true visualization of Tolkien's Middle-earth. A work for, and of, our times. The film does what the best fairy tales do: the creation of an alternate world, plausible and persuasive, where the young — and not only the young — can lose themselves.

Director: Peter Jackson
Running time: 238 minutes
Released: 2001

Check out this awesome statue of Cobra's Baroness!

The Lego Lord of the Rings collection was great. We got a couple of sets but wish we owned them all.

A very cool Lego custom inspired by the Shaun of the Dead film.

A few years ago a great Steve Jobs figurine was released. Measuring 12 inches high, this 1:6 scale version features a ton of details, from his signature round glasses down to his white sneakers.

Lego Dimensions Gollum

Isaac told me that he needed Gollum for something special within the Lego Dimensions video game. So we got him during a special sale. All that I remember is that Gollum is the only Lord of the Rings playable character that can go underwater.

Lego Dimensions Gandalf

Our favourite character from the Lord of the Rings is without a doubt Gandalf. So it was no surprise that both Isaac and myself were extremely happy when Gandalf joined the Lego Dimensions starter pack.

Shopping!

We went out shopping and got some cool stuff.

Boxing Day!

We quickly went to Boxing Day to pick up some video games we wanted for sometimes now... we got the amazing Dying Light, the crazy Mortal Kombat X and LOTR Shadow of Mordor on PS4.

Lego Expo part II

The Lego Expo took place at the Cosmodome in Laval. A very cool place. The event was fun but a little expensive. It should been $5 for adults and free for kids under 12. Anyway, we had fun and witness some amazing creations.

There was some cosplayers, two of them as characters from the awesome Lego Movie. An amazing Lord of the Rings-esque city and even a custom Grendizer (Goldorak)!

Lego Dino Attack Typhoon vs. T-Rex!

We got used and for really cheap the amazing Lego Dino Attack Typhoon vs. T-Rex set (#7477).

Released in 2005, this set has 605 bricks including 4 mini figures. The highlight of this set are the two dinosaurs, especially the T-Rex who is huge and highly detailed.

The Typhoon helicopter is massive and has tons cool features like the double cockpits and enclosed tail rotor. There's lots of space for mini figures. Very cool!

Here's a look at the upcoming Lego Hobbit Lonely Mountain Playset!

And here's a San Diego ComicCon exlusive Batman that was sold at the event.

Lego The Lord of the Rings - Christmas

For Christmas, Isaac got the awesome Lego The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) The Wizard Battle set (#79005). Ok… I have to admit that I was more excited then him! Finally we owned Saruman!

Its a small but very cool set, that comes with two minifigures. The Eye of Sauron is especially!

Coming in May is the Lego Star Wars Sandcrawler (#75059). With a retail price of $300 US, this is a HUGE set with 7 minifigures; Luke Skywalker, Uncle Owen, C-3PO and 4 Jawas, plus R2-D2, R2 unit, an R1-series Droid, Gonk Droid, R5-D4 and a Treadwell Droid.

Flea Market Hunting : Lego Minifigure
