Sunday Special: Sectaur, Coleco, Scribblenauts, The Other World, Arco, Mattel, Rodan

Without a doubt, the Sectaurs is one of the greatest action figures collection of all time. We own plenty of them but sadly not the Hive playset.

Scribblenauts was a really cool video game and they made an even cooler figurine.

The Other World from Arco was one of my favourite collection as a kid. Wish I still owned them.

One of our most WANTED toy... Rodan!

Flea Market Hunting : Sectaurs + Marvel Universe Live

We finally found this very cool Sectaurs little creature, Bitaur. I used to own it as a kid. Always loved Sectaurs. Kind of surprised that it was never rebooted.

We are about to leave home to go to the Marvel Universe Live experience!!!

Kim's Good Guys Dream Team

And here's my Good Guys Dream Team!!!!

This is a team of five, five of my favourite action figures ever! The leader of this Good Guys Dream Team is none other then Chuck Norris!! The martial artist and actor is famous for many things (including Internet's memes).

Lion-O from the Thundercats is a strong asset to this Good Guys Dream Team. He wields the legendary Sword of Omens! Dargon from the Sectaurs, Prince of the Shining Realm is one brave warrior.

Next is Dr.Fate. A character born in 1940, he is by far the wisest and smartest of the team. And finally, Red Hulk (also known as Rulk) is one of the most powerful being ever.

And there you have it my Good Guys Dream Team...

Our Favourite Retro Toys of 2012

1- Lego Space System Monorail Transport #6990
Released in 1987, this amazing set of 715 pieces, 6 mini figures and a battery powered space train was the coolest retro toy we got in 2012. This set also got us into building our new incredible Lego city.

2- Sectaurs
Last summer we found more Sectaurs figures, along with two monster puppets (!!), comic books and accessories. Isaac and I love Sectaurs.

3- Mego Pocket Heroes
We found both the late 1970s Batmobile and Hulk action figure, which I owned as a kid. Next year I hope we find more.

4- Star Wars
Thirty one years later I finally got my Wampa action figure! You seriously can't understand just how happy I am about it.

5- Clash of the Titans
As a kid one of my favourite collection was the Clash of the Titans action figures. For the past few years I have been trying to find some but no luck. Well during our last trip at the flea market I found some... for only 75 cents each!!! I took all the ones they had, two Calibos and Persus!! Considering that these are over 30 years old, they are still in good condition! Sure they are missing their weapons but we are so happy to own them!

Also we got lots of classic 1980s Masters of the Universe, Lone Ranger, G.I.Joe, The Real Ghostbusters, Aliens and others!

Its showtime!

Remember a few months ago we showed you some of our collection exposed in our house. Well here's an update. As you can see we've added new figures to the lot.

And here are some of our taller figures, proudly displayed in the living room...

while the other big guys are stored elsewhere.

Flea Market Hunting : Sectaurs

But wait... there's more Sectaurs!

We scored that bad guy, which sadly I don't know the name. It came with his little creature and weapons. He's means business!

We also got the comic books, instruction and fan club instructions. Seriously, we love Sectaurs!

Flea Market Hunting : Sectaurs

Yes! Yes! Yes!
We got more Sectaurs action figures!

Since the last time we got some, Isaac really loves this collection and he wanted more.

We got Dargon (for a third time) and his creature Dragonflyer. Most surprisingly is that it is complete with all weapons. Wow!

Look just how beautiful it is. We are both extremely happy.

Flea Market Hunting : Sectaurs

We finally found a Sectaurs creature (puppet)!!!! Amazing!

Our collection of Sectaurs is slowly but nicely growing but we were missing those creatures. Now own one! Isaac is just as happy as I am. Just look at the crazy faces he makes.

Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion was a line of action figures released by Coleco in 1985.

Sectaurs

Isaac loves the Sectaurs and he wanted me to take a photo of him with his collection.

Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion was a line of action figures released by Coleco in 1985.

Figures and insect companions were packaged together in a window box with weapons, a mini comic book and instructions. Some of these companions were large enough for the Sectaurs to ride, and were actually "puppet like", in which you could place your hand inside a glove that made up the lower body of the beast to manipulate the legs and an action feature. A second series of figures were designed and pictured in dealers' catalogues, but never produced due to the line's cancellation.

Chaos at our place!

It was a night of chaos and mayhem at our place since the devilish and ancient Mumm-ra allied himself with the evil lord of the Sectaurs Spidrax, the Super Ninja and that big purple dinosaur from the Masters of the Universe!

Thankfully Chuck Norris, Ben 10 and some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles decided to take matter in their own hands and deliver our place from such evil!

Flea Market Hunting : Sectaur

I got another Sectaur for Isaac. While we already had him I had to get it especially since it was only $1. The evil General Spidrax, the hideous leader of the Dark Domain's armies!

This is the original box it came in back in the days!

Flea Market Hunting: Sectaurs

During our trip to the flea market last weekend we found two Sectaurs action figures! On the left is the evil General Spidrax, the hideous leader of the Dark Domain's armies!

On the right if Mantor, a "Keeper of the Way," a scholar of the ancient powers contained in the Hyves and the Ancients who created them.

Sectaurs was released by Coleco in 1985 (not 1984, as the stamp on the figures would suggest), figures and insect companions were packaged together in a window box with weapons, a mini comic book and instructions.

The toy line did not do well partly because of the intimidating appearances of even the heroes and their companion beasts, and partially due to price points well above other action figure lines in stores at the same time.

Sectaurs + Thundercats

Among the action figures that my cousin gave to my son, there was numerous Sectaurs and one Thundercat.

Released in 1985 by Coleco, Sectaurs Warriors of Symbion was a very cool action figure line, with each ones came with an insect companion and comic book. Some of these insect were big enough so that the Sectaur could actually ride them, like a puppet. The prince and hero of the good guys was called Dargon. For me what struck me the most from the Sectaurs were the TV commercials, which I rank among the best ever. It actually featured a story and a cliffhanger so that you had to watch the next one a few weeks later.

One of my brother's favorite action figures collection as a kid was the Thundercats. He had lots of them. Produced by the legendary Rankin/Bass Productions, Thundercats had one of the coolest TV show at the time. In 1985, the TV show and first action figures were released by LJN. Now my son just ended up with a superbly well preserved Lion-O figure. I do plan on watching the animated series with my son in a near future.

Flea Market Hunting: Spider-man, G.I.Joe & Sectaur

One of the very first superhero my son got into was Spider-man. At our trip at the flea market over the weekend we got two Spider-man action figures. One of Peter Parker transforming himself and the other of our friendly neighborhood.

My son is slowly getting into G.I.Joe. He recently got his very first figure, which was Snake Eyes and at the flea market we got one of Zartan's henchman and one of Cobra-La's disciple.

Always been a big fan of the Sectaur as a kid so I was glad to find a figure of Dargon. Here he stole He-Man's Battlecat for a walk to the parc...
