Sunday Special: SpaceWar, Arco, Abdullah the Butcher, Transformers, Hasbro

Arco's SpaceWar collection was without a doubt the coolest Star Wars copy. I wish I still owned them all.

Never seen this one before... an Abdullah the Butcher action figure!

Here's some beautiful original Transformers artworks.

Star Wars + Avengers + Transformers

I know this ain't toys but here a few cool things we recently bought.

Look just how cute is Isaac with that Angry Birds Star Wars t-shirt. We love the character design. As for the game itself, I think its ok nothing more.

We also got some cool Avengers socks! Isaac will be Earth mightiest kid with these!

And we got a Transformer battery powered tooth brush.

We'll be back tomorrow with more toys!!

Its official, J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars Episode VII: Lens Flare.

After a bevy of emails and phone calls, the formalities have been wrapped up, and at long last everyone can exhale and properly share the word with an excited Internet. Yes, J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII, the first of a new series of Star Wars films to come from Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy. Abrams will be directing and Academy Award-winning writer Michael Arndt will write the screenplay.

"It's very exciting to have J.J. aboard leading the charge as we set off to make a new Star Wars movie," said Kennedy. "J.J. is the perfect director to helm this. Beyond having such great instincts as a filmmaker, he has an intuitive understanding of this franchise. He understands the essence of the Star Wars experience, and will bring that talent to create an unforgettable motion picture."

George Lucas went on to say "I've consistently been impressed with J.J. as a filmmaker and storyteller." He's an ideal choice to direct the new Star Wars film and the legacy couldn't be in better hands."

"To be a part of the next chapter of the Star Wars saga, to collaborate with Kathy Kennedy and this remarkable group of people, is an absolute honor," J.J. Abrams said. "I may be even more grateful to George Lucas now than I was as a kid."

J.J., his longtime producing partner Bryan Burk, and Bad Robot are on board to produce along with Kathleen Kennedy under the Disney | Lucasfilm banner."

Transformers

The son of a friend of mine gave Isaac the wicked cool Contrusticon Devastator Transformers! This thing is HUGE! It actually weights 8 pounds. Its rather hard to find and now goes for around $350, insane!

We actually had to find videos on YouTube to see just how to built Devastator. This character actually appeared in the second Transformers film, Revenge of the Fallen.

The ultimate DECEPTICON weapon has arrived on Earth, and nothing will ever be the same. CONSTRUCTICON DEVASTATOR is the biggest robot ever-towering above AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS alike. As his Vortex Grinder snaps open and glows with power, all before him quake in fear, knowing their destruction is inevitable! Combine all six detailed vehicles - including MIXMASTER vehicle with motion-activated vehicle and conversion sounds! - to create the mighty CONSTRUCTICON DEVASTATOR figure! Lights and destruction sounds show his enemies he means business and when this CONSTRUCTICON DEVASTATOR figure speaks, theyre sure to run in fear! Includes LONGHAUL, MIXMASTER, SCAVENGER, RAMPAGE, SCRAPPER, and HIGHTOWER vehicles.

Happy Meal: Transformers

Here's the other Transformers Prime figure we got a McDonald's as part of their recent Happy Meal collection. He's an Autobots but with a very angry face.

And here they are fighting, looks like the good guys are winning!

Happy Meal: Transformers

McDonald's recently had Transformers Prime figures with their Happy Meal. The one we got was an Decepticons. Unfortunately I can't tell who he is as they all look the same now (thank you Michael Bay!).

Transformers

Another Transformers my son got from his uncle is a big cargo plane from the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen film. I'm not sure but I think his name is Stratosphere. It comes with a small Optimus Prime mini-figure. Its a cool looking Autobots, which thankfully is much easier to transform then BumbleBee.

Transformers

More than meets the eyes!

Most of you might have noticed that we never talked about the Transformers before. The reason why? My son and simply aren't big fans of either the original collection/toon or the new ones (and those Michael Bay movies didn't help either).

Still my son got some Transformers from his uncle (who loves cars). The first one he got was Bumblebee. I have to admit that it is nicely done and looks good but I don't remember the Transformers being so hard to transform!

Sorry Hasbro but aren't the Transformers toys for kids? I don't think my son will ever be able to actually transform it from car to robot or vice versa... not anytime soon anyway!
