Saturday Movie
Saturday Movie
Isaac and myself love movies. Now every Saturday we will quickly talk about a movie we recently watched. Hope you enjoy and share in your views with us.
Hotel Transylvania 2
Now that Dracula (Adam Sandler) has opened the Hotel Transylvania's doors to humans, things are changing for the better; however, Drac is secretly worried that his half-human grandson, Dennis, isn't showing his vampire side. So, while Mavis and Johnny are away, Drac enlists his friends to help him put the boy through a "monster-in-training" boot camp. But things really get batty when Drac's cantankerous, old-school dad (Mel Brooks) pays an unexpected visit.
An ok sequel with some terrible jokes and good animation.
Director: Genndy Tartakovsky
Running time: 89 minutes
Released: 2015

Favourite New Toys of 2017
Here's our Favourite New Toys of 2017!
1- Funko Pop!
This year was dominated by Funko Pop! figures. We really went all out on getting the ones we want. They own so many franchises its almost insane. Sadly there are many figures which are way too expensive.
2- Pokémon - Tomy
Another year with some great new Pokémon figures. Got some hard to find from Japan and lots of cool new ones released in North America.
3- WWE - Mattel
Got a few WWE wrestlers this year but we slowed down. Isaac is not playing with them as much as he did. He is getting older now.

At the Earth's Core
Dr. Abner Perry (Peter Cushing) is an English scientist who has invented a massive drill that can dig deep into the earth. Joined by his adventure-seeking American backer, David Innes (Doug McClure), Perry accidentally discovers an underground civilization of primitive humans who live in fear of telepathic flying monsters. David becomes intrigued by the beautiful native Dia (the gorgeous Caroline Munro), and must rescue her when she is chosen as a human sacrifice.
A classic from my childhood. Cool action sequences and fun creatures design. The film is still highly entertaining.
Director: Kevin Connor
Running time: 90 minutes
Released: 1976

The Land That Time Forgot
Bowen Tyler (Doug McClure) is among a small group of survivors taken in by a German submarine after the vessel has sunk their ship. When a struggle ensues between the German officers and their captives, the U-boat, which is running out of fuel, ends up coming across an uncharted island. Unfortunately for the passengers and crew, dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures roam the land, and everyone must fight to survive the perils of the lost island.
I remember seeing this as a kid and being amazed by it. Even though the story drags a little and that the special fx haven't aged that well, the film is still very entertaining and worth seeing especially if you have kids.
Director: Kevin Connor
Running time: 91 minutes
Released: 1974

Time to play outside
We also went out and explored le Canyon des Portes de L'Enfer (The Canyon's Door of Hell)!
We walked for hours, through to very nice scenary including a bridge that was almost scary!
Walking through the woods, we heard a chainsaw... I joked about the possibility that Leatherface might be around... the kids didn't find it funny!

Sunday Special: Star Wars, Kenner, Masters of the Universe, Mattel, Batman, SideShow
Always loved those retro Kenner Star Wars ads!
As a kid, I owned the Masters of the Universe accessories.
Remember those Batman figurines "inspired" by the Tim Burton film.
A few years ago, SideShow released this amazing 12" figure of Ash!

Meanwhile the Millennium Comet, which appears in the night sky for seven days once every thousand years, is now visible. It is, at the same time, when the legendary Pokémon Jirachi awakens from a long slumber to absorb the comet's energy. An energy that could turn bad into the wrong hands.
Another fun Pokémon film with a cool cast and a huge surprise named Groudon.
Director: Kunihiko Yuyama
Running time: 84 minutes
Released: 2003

We went out to explore a labyrinth. Wasn't that difficult to find our way out but was still fun.
In the end, we "found" the "monster".
