Yes... she is a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media. Hatsune Miku is portrayed as a 16-year-old girl with long turquoise pigtails. She looks cool, has a positive attitude and sings some of the best songs produced of the last few years.
Not surprisingly, my girlfriend's daughter (Calixa) also fell in love with Hatsune and now has a cool collection of Hatsune Miku collectibles.
