A few weeks ago, Isaac wanted to have a big melee fight with all of this action figures that are part of various collections that are actually all mixed together in one big box!
Ghostbusters, Lone Ranger, Dungeons And Dragons, Toy Story, Toxic Avenger, G.I.Joe, Bakugan, Steel Monsters, Guitar Hero, Adventure People and countless others took possession of our home and unleashed their destruction all around!
Great times we had as Isaac and I came up with some of the craziest stories and twists ever!
A boy and dad passion for action figures.

Marvel
Guess what Isaac did after getting his new Destroyer action figure? He made two teams of Marvel characters. One with his favorite superheroes ready to battle all of his favorite supervillains. That was a huge battle that lasted almost through the night...

Thor!!!!!!!!!!
Isaac and I liked the Thor live action film. It is not great but we had fun... especially seeing The Destroyer!!
A few weeks ago at work, while talking with a co-worker we were discussing just how cool The Destroyer was and I told him that unfortunately we didn't owned an action figure of it (there was no such figure in Hasbro's Wave 1 collection of Thor). My friend tells me that he has one from Toy Biz that he would sell me! Done deal!
Let me just saw that Isaac went nuts when he saw the action figure. Released a few years ago, this is a tall and superbly detailed figure as part of their Marvel Legends collection.
The Destroyer is a fictional object that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The object first appears in Journey into Mystery #118 (Jul. 1965) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Angry Birds
Isaac and I love Angry Birds! We play all of the different versions on the iPad. Its a very addictive game with great logic, physic and luck. By now I guess that you know the premise of the game... but just to make sure. With the use of a sling shot, you launch those Angry Birds to knock over some mean pigs. Not making this up!
Well now they have release some very nice plush version of those Angry Birds (and pigs) and aunt Stephanie bought one for Isaac while on her trip in New York! Now thats cool! What even cooler is that Isaac has been sleeping with is ever since!

Playmobil
A few weeks ago I got Isaac his very first Playmobil action figure! As a kid I never really got into Playmobil but my younger brother did.
This ghostly glow-in-the-dark figure is part of the Playmobil Special collection. Its actually a nice looking figure and Isaac was extremely happy!
Playmobil (pronounced play-mo-beel) is a line of toys produced by the Brandstätter Group (Geobra Brandstätter GmbH & Co KG), headquartered in Zirndorf, Germany.

Flea Market Hunting : Mega Bloks
What a find that was! A few weeks ago while going around at our local flea market we found the Mega Bloks Pirates of the Caribbean Black Pearl Ship Playset. The important things to understand here is that this Mega Bloks collection is no longer available and that they are fully compatible with Lego!
If you check online this playset goes for as much as $249! We got it for $10! What a deal! Ok it is missing one piece of the boat but since it is Lego compatible and that I found the instruction manual online, I was able to reconstruct that missing piece, amazing!
This is a superb playset that comes with cannon ports, opening desk panels, moving pulley system, captain's cabin, treasure chest and more! Overall there are about 175 pieces.
On a sidenote, a few years ago the Lego Group has filed law suits against Mega Bloks, Inc. in courts around the world on the grounds that Mega Bloks' use of the "studs and tubes" interlocking brick system is a violation of trademarks held by Lego. Generally such law suits have been unsuccessful, chiefly because the functional design of the basic brick is considered a matter of patent rather than trademark law, and all relevant Lego patents have expired.
The Supreme Court of Canada, ruling in the case of Kirkbi (Lego) v. Ritvik Holdings (Mega Bloks), did not only strike a metaphorical blow for children (and parents!) in Canada, not to mention the pocketbooks of the latter, but also clarified the boundaries between two areas of intellectual property. In holding that Lego does not have a trademark in the shape of its building blocks, the Court forced Lego to compete with Mega Bloks where they are in fact supposed to compete: in the marketplace. The ultimate winners here are the kids!

Lego Alien Conquest
We love Lego! A couple of months ago, we saw online a few images from their upcoming Alien Conquest collection. Taken us by surprise, our local Toys R US had received them so we got a small set.
With 42 pieces, set #7049 comes with two mini figures, one human and a very cool looking alien. There is also a spaceship. Its a small yet very nice set. This won't be our last!

Ghost Rider
After months of hunting for it we finally managed to find a Marvel universe version of Ghost Rider. This used action figure is a little hard to find around here. Its a cool and detailed 3 3/4" figure.
He is the second Marvel character to use the name Ghost Rider, following the Western hero later known as the Phantom Rider, and preceding Daniel Ketch. Johnny Blaze first appeared as the Ghost Rider in Marvel Spotlight #5 (August 1972).

Ben 10
Much to our surprise, we found the just release HyperAlien Vilgax action figure at our local Toys R US. This is one superbly designed, sculpted and detailed version of Ben 10 most infamous bad guy. Standing 7.5" tall, this is a very impressive and kinda scary action figure.
Here it is compared to the other smaller version of Vilgax we recently found!

Captain America
A few weeks ago our local Toys R US finally received the new Captain America action figures collection based on the upcoming film. Unfortunately most of the figures from Hasbro's wave 1 are actually Captain America... where is Red Skull?!
While we do own a retro Secret Wars Captain America, we were in need of a newer version of "The First Avenger". Its a nice detailed figure that comes with a superb version of his shield and some missiles thrower gun. Isaac loves him!

While doing some shopping we grabbed a new Imaginext blue alien. His mouth opens and you can head bounce up and down by pushing a button on its back. It also comes with another small alien. Isaac and I love the Fisher Price's Imaginext collection!

Masters of the Universe

Tron 2.0
A very cool action figure we got was the IC Regular robots from the Tron 2.0 video game! Released by Neca a few years ago, this is very tall yet limited in articulation figure.
Tron 2.0 is a first person shooter computer game developed by Monolith Productions. According to Tron creator Steven Lisberger, Tron 2.0 was the official sequel to the 1982 motion picture Tron, but was later declared non-canon by Tron Legacy director Joesph Kosinsk.

The Lord of the Rings
The last Lord of the Rings action figure we got was Gollum. This is the Return of the King edition of the character, which features crawling action that comes with an actual wall!
Its a nicely detailed and sculpted figure that looks exactly like in the film. And here is Isaac with all of the latest LOTR figures we got just moments before opening them!

The Lord of the Rings
One LOTR action figure we really wanted was Gandalf. We got the "Balrog Battle" Gandalf from The Two Towers film. Its a great looking action figure of our favorite character that comes with lots of accessories.

The Lord of the Rings
We had to get another hobbit, so the next logical choice was Sam! This is the "Gate of Mordor" edition that came out during The Two Towers film. Ok, it is not the coolest action figure but still...

The Lord of the Rings
One bad guy we really wanted was Gothmog... and guess what, we found it! Not to be rude but he is probably the ugliest character in all of The Lord of the Rings. Yet Isaac really wanted him in his now ever growing collection! It is a cool figure though that look very accurate to the one in the films.

The Lord of the Rings
We got our very first Legolas action figures from The Lord of the Rings. Of the ones they released this is the best looking. It has a throwing blades action features that you can activate with a lever on his back, very cool!

The Lord of the Rings
We got a couple of new and sealed action figures from The Lord of the Rings movies. Needless to say that these didn't stay in their package very long! First was the Eye of Sauron! This electronic version of the infamous eye lights up, makes sounds and talks. Isaac loves it! We put it on our table, from which the eye can see everything that is happening around while we play!

Spawn
As I recently mentioned, Isaac is really getting into Spawn. We are slowly getting more McFarlane action figures. A few weeks ago, one regular seller from the flea market invited us at his place to take a look if there is anything we wanted. First thing we got was the Comic Angela released in 1995. Its a cool action figure and Isaac really wanted that one!

Star Wars
The other spaceship we got was the Bespin Cloud Car. I've always wanted it as a kid but sadly never did... now I do! This new updated version is actually way cooler then the original one! Its nicely detailed and fires missiles! This one was also only $7.
