One gift I gave my son last year was a Carrera Mario Kart DS racing system. As a kid I always loved these so my son had to have one. It comes with a Mario and Wario car, transformer, connection section, two speed controllers, curves, narrow section, guardrails and supports.

The car themselves are well made and detailed. This is the smallest of the Carrera kit but there is nearly 8 feet of track! What's cooler is that it actually works with batteries. Forget the bad comments online, this thing is great! Remember that this is for kids (of all ages!).
