Lego Monster Fighters + Lego news

And here it is... our collection of Lego Monster Fighters! They are all proudly showcased in our home.

We love the castle. Its well built, lots of cool details, great minifigures and accessories.

As you can see there are lots of vehicles that comes with the "heroes". I wish they would have offered more "bad guys" instead.

My personal favourite is the laboratory, simply awesome!

There is a new Lego MMO coming soon! Isaac and I loved Lego Universe but sadly the game's servers were closed last January.

Online game developer Funcom revealed that it's signed a deal with Lego to make an online game based on Lego Minifigures.

Lego Minifigures, of course, are the little inhabitants of the Lego universe: whether that is knights or policemen, Minifigures have been a Lego mainstay for decades.

According to the release, "The massively multiplayer online game that Funcom will develop based on the Lego Minifigures franchise will focus on maximum accessibility. Funcom and the LEGO Group will work together to make the game available to consumers in their online channels and will be coordinating activities to provide a broad and enhanced experience for the product line."

Back in 2010, game developer NetDevil released a Lego MMO called Lego Universe. The game's servers were shutdown earlier this year.

"The market for family-friendly online experiences intended for children and youngsters is brimming with potential," says Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. "Being able to work with a world-renowned brand such as the Lego brand to develop an MMO for this audience is incredibly exciting to us as game developers and for Funcom as a company. This is source material we all know and love and we simply cannot wait to get started working with the Lego Group on realizing this exciting project."

There is also a Lego City game coming to the Wii U and hopefully other consoles. It looks like Grand Theft Auto but with Lego!

Here's the very cool Lego Marvel Super Heroes - TV Short!

And here's an great 45 minutes video tour of Brickworld 2012 Lego Convention in Chicago!

ToyCon : Mezco's Cinema of Fear

They last figure we got was the Mezco's Cinema of Fear Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film.

Its a creepy great looking massive figure that we were missing to complete our collection!

ToyCon : Lego

The Quebec lego user Group (QuéLug) was there at the ToyCon to showcase some Lego! As always there was some amazing sets displayed.

As you can see there were lots of Lego Star Wars including the extremely hard to find Cloud City (#10123).

Lots of awesome classic Lego space too! And the highlight for Isaac was when the owner of the Lego Star Wars gave him the Lego Gorilla suit guy from Series 3, which we wanted but where missing. Thanks again!

As mentioned last week, Lego celebrates its 80th anniversary! Simply amazing! And out of nowhere comes this must see animated short film about the story of those little blocks we love, enjoy!

ToyCon : Marvel Universe

Here is Isaac proudly showing his brand new Marvel Universe Skrull soldier action figure. We've been wanting this one for sometime now. Our Skrull army is growing very nicely. Beware!

Here's a look at the upcoming Chitauri and Nick Fury action figure from The Avengers collection along with the new Super Helicarrier!!!!

Lots of the upcoming Marvel Universe action figures were shown at the recent San Diego ComicCon.

Here's a look at some new Spider-Man figures.

And finally, look at this amazing presentation that was done for the ComicCon! Wow! We want this at our home. Look at Purple Man and Norman Osborn!

ToyCon : Spawn

The last Spawn ultra action figure Isaac got was Rotarr!

Sadlly we are not familiar with this character but he is way too cool. Look at his ugly face and awesome weapons. He is one of our new favourite.

And here are all three Spawn figures Isaac bought for himself at the ToyCon.

ToyCon : Spawn

Another awesome Spawn action figure Isaac got was Overtkill II!

Look at him! Crazy! This is a much cooler version of the famous character. Superbly detailed and crazy sculpted. Overtkill means business.

ToyCon : Spawn

One collection Isaac wanted to get more action figures at the ToyCon was Spawn.

Those McFarlane figures are simply insane! We scored a few of them, new and sealed but of course we opened them when we got home.

Our favourite: Sansker!

Look at this figure! Awesome sculpt, highly detailed and it looks mean! We both love him.

ToyCon : Marvel Universe + Lego 80th Anniversary

One Marvel Universe action figure that Isaac really wanted was Ultron.

We already own an older version of that robotic bad guy but we were on the search for the new edition. This is a cool figure but sadly is arms stick out weirdly, like unfortunately many Marvel Universe. Isaac is still extremely happy!

Today is the 80th anniversary of the Lego brand!

It was August 10th, 1932 in Billund, Denmark that a Danish carpenter named Ole Kirk Christiansen created Lego. The company, which first produced wooden toys, is now the world's leading construction toy manufacturer, producing high quality play materials that inspire children to build what they can possibly -- and impossibly -- imagine.

ToyCon : Aliens

We scored another Aliens vehicle!

The Space Marine Stinger XT-37 vehicle is simply awesome! There is room for two figures and it features a cool trapper snare and alienator missiles that you can actually shoot!

We are now only  missing the Electronic Hovertread vehicle.

And here's a great news! Super7 will release the 1979 unreleased 3.75" Alien action figures! Utilizing the original prototypes, Super7 will finally make these "lost toys" a reality.

I don't know about you, but we will get them all!

ToyCon : Aliens

Another Aliens action figure Isaac found was A.t.a.x. (Alien tactical advantage explorer). This is an awesome space marine who comes with an Alien disguise gear!

There are legs attachments, backpack, arms, missile and Queen helmet! Seriously this guy is awesome!

Also take a look at this cool image, which shows most of the Kenner Aliens figures and vehicles.
