Sunday Special: Mighty Men & Monster Maker, Tomy, The Other World, Arco, Thundercats, LJN, Night of the Living Dead
The Mighty Men & Monster Maker set from Tomy is one of my most wanted item of all time. Sadly never owned it as a kid.
The Other World from Arco was a cool collection. So many great characters, monsters and such. We owned many of them.
The original Thundercats collection from LJN remains one of the all time great!

The Secret World of Arrietty
A tiny person named Arrietty and her family live under a house's floorboards and survive by borrowing items from the home's human inhabitants. When 12-year-old Shawn, a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty's family from the home and straight into danger.
Another amazing film from the Japanese Studio Ghibli told through an heartwarming story is gorgeous animation.

Sunday Special: Power Lords, Revell
This week's Sunday Special is all about the amazing Power Lords series from Revell.
As a kid, I always wanted these but somehow they were rather hard to find around it. Believe it or not, I finally got my first Power Lords action figure as an adult!
Revell hired Wayne Barlowe (author/artist of Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials) to design the toys.
Each figure has an action feature. Adam Power can change into Lord Power by pushing a button to turn his torso around to reveal the Lord Power side; Shaya is a 2-sided figure who is changed by turning her cape around and removing her helmet; Arkus' wings flap. Each figure also includes a file card, which provides a brief dossier on the character and demonstrates how to initiate its special feature.
DC Comics published a 3-issue Power Lords comic book series beginning in December 1983. A video game, board game, jigsaw puzzle and coloring book based on the characters were also released that same year.

Terminator Genisys
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission: reset the future.
Where to begin? With the nonsense possibilities of time travel within a story, this new Terminator is both a sequel and a reboot. It desperately tries to be as good as the first two film with stealing scenes from them and reworking them in a new ridiculous timeline. In the end it is still fun but totally forgettable.

The Warriors
A turf battle between New York City street gangs that rages from Coney Island to the Bronx. The Warriors are mistakenly fingered for the killing of a gang leader. Soon they have every gang in the city out to get revenge and they must make their way across the city to their own turf.
A masterpiece that blew me away back in 1979 and still does today. Each gang have a unique name, look and theme. This is New York in a cartoonish, violent, and totally fun way.

Sunday Special: Sectaur, Coleco, Scribblenauts, The Other World, Arco, Mattel, Rodan
Without a doubt, the Sectaurs is one of the greatest action figures collection of all time. We own plenty of them but sadly not the Hive playset.
Scribblenauts was a really cool video game and they made an even cooler figurine.
