Another very cool find at the flea market... our very first Scooby Doo action figures! Isaac loves Scooby Doo. Along with the original Godzilla movies, it was one of the first "horror" themed stuff he watched.
We found Fred, Scooby and Shaggy. Standing at about 5 inches tall, these are nice figure but with limited articulations. Hopefully we will find the other two soon...
A boy and dad passion for action figures.

Flea Market Hunting: Superman
We found an amazing action figure of Bizarro!
A grotesque imitation of Superman fashioned out of lifeless matter. Clad in an invulnerable costume just like Superman's and endowed with all of his mighty super-powers, Bizarro possesses a dim copy of Superman's super-keen mind.
His flesh is white, the color of chalk, and his face appears faceted, as though it had been chiseled out of rock. His black hair is matted and unkempt. He is well-meaning but witless, super-powerful but pathetic. His speech is illiterate and ungrammatical. Because Bizarro's mind is an imperfect imitation of Superman's, however, he is capable of flights of occasional super-genius. Because he possesses dim duplicate memories of all that Superman knows, he is well aware that Clark Kent is secretly Superman.
Unlike Superman, Bizarro is immune to green kryptonite, but like all Bizarro creatures, he is vulnerable to blue kryptonite.
Brought into being by an ingenious duplicator ray built by Lex Luthor, the renegade scientist who is Superman's bitterest enemy, Bizarro is only lifeless matter in human form - a thing composed of unliving matter. "Me not human... me not creature," moans Bizarro pathetically in July 1959, "... me not even animal!"

Flea Market Hunting: X-Men
Another X-Men we got at the flea market was Gambit. Released in the early 1990's by Toy Biz, this is not the best looking figure but Isaac was very happy to find it. This was part of the X-Men Animated Classics collection. Gambit has a power kick!

Flea Market Hunting: Masters of the Universe
We got a new Masters of the Universe action figure from the 2002 reboot from Mattel. Its another He-man. Since we already own another version of He-man, I wish we had find another character. But these are so rare around here that we couldn't pass and got it anyway... for only $2.

Flea Market Hunting: X-Men
Another X-Men action figure we got was the rather weird looking X-Men Monster Armor Mystique with Snap-On She-Beast armor. Released by Toy Biz in 1997, I seriously have no clue as to what they were thinking when they came up with the idea for such figure!

Flea Market Hunting: X-Men
During one of our last trip at the flea market we found lots of great action figures! First one was Pyro. He is part of the X-Men universe and even appeared in two of the live action film.
Pyro is a mutant who possesses the power to psionically control fire and flame, though not generate it. He wears a flame thrower on his back to provide the flame which he then takes control of.
This is a very cool figure released a few years ago by Toy Biz as part of the X-Men Classics Battle Pack: Fire and Ice.
On a side note... as you might have noticed, there is no update on the Montreal Comic Con. Why? After waiting in line for 2 hours we were told that there was no more place left inside! The saddest part... trying to explain why to my four years old.

Happy Meal: Pokemon
A few weeks ago, Mc Donald's Happy Meal featured the famous Pokemon! Isaac never really showed any interest for Pokemon. He knew some of the characters from the Wii game Super Smash Bros. but that was about it. Now he is asking me to see the movies and all...

Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars
We recently got the Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars for the Nintendo DS! We both love Nintendo, Star Wars and Lego so this is yet another great combination.
We already own it on the Wii but this portable version is actually different. A cool game.
Today we are attending the Montreal Comic Con! This is a big event. Expect news update about it starting tomorrow.

Spider-Man
While going around our local Toys R US store we found the extremely cool Power Charge Rhino action figure. Released last year by Hasbro, this 3 3/4 inch figure is part of the ever growing Spider-Man collection. Unfortunately this collection consist mostly of variations of Spider-Man but once in a while a bad guy is released.
This is a superbly detailed and designed figure. We both love Rhino so it was about time that we actually get him! Our collection of Spider-Man bad guys is getting almost complete which is very cool!

Lego
Isaac and I love Lego! Here's a new construction of his. A robot vehicle for the bad guys. Notice the round black Lego on the top righ where the mini figurine sits down and control it.
I just love how most of the pieces aren't even "properly" placed together. It makes it even cooler!

Happy Meal: Batman The Brave and the Bold
A few weeks ago, McDonald's Happy Meal featured small figures based on the amazing TV series, Batman the Brave and the Bold. Needless to say that during those weeks we ate way too much Happy Meals! Sadly we didn't managed to get them all but got most of them. On our most wanted list was Batmite which we got in our very last batch! Here's some of them...

Flea Market Hunting: The Lord of the Rings
Finally the last action figure we got at the flea market was a Uruk-Hai soldier from The Lord of the Rings movies. Its a scary looking figures. Isaac and I love the Uruk-Hai... we need more! They are an advanced breed or breeds of Orcs.

Flea Market Hunting: Marvel
One weird looking action figure we got was the Venom Purple released by Toy Biz in 1997. He looks like somekind of mix between the Venom we all know and a sea creature. Isaac really wanted it and you can never have enough Symbiote!
The Symbiote is a specific species of extraterrestrial organism. These Symbiotes are sometimes referred to as "living costumes" because of the way the amorphous creatures envelope their hosts and can act as clothing or a costume.
Below is Isaac doing his best Venom impersonation!

Flea Market Hunting: Pirates of the Caribbean
Earlier this summer my son had seen the last Pirates of the Caribbean film and really liked it. Personally I am not a big fan of the series and still haven't seen the last one. Anyway while looking around around at the flea market we found this rather big Davy Jones action figure.
Based on the second film and released by Neca this is a cool figure. Isaac recently started to collect Pirates of the Caribbean action figures at his mom's so we decided to get it for there.

Flea Market Hunting: Ghostbusters
After searching for this specific figure for months we finally found it! Of course I am talking about the Dracula version of The Real Ghostbusters collection by Kenner. Released in 1989 this is a cool action figure. You can squeeze this guys legs and he spreads open his cape and show his fangs.
I have to admit that ever since Isaac saw the movie The Monster Squad, he has been a little obsessed with getting all of the classic Universal monsters. We are now missing only a few...

Flea Market Hunting
Last year at the flea market my son and I came upon a Toxic Avenger action figure. I had heard about them but never actually seen one... until then! Troma's favorite character was there, in a plastic bag loaded with accessories. Two bucks later he was ours!
Originally released in 1991 by Playmates, who released the incredibly popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures, released some action figures not based on the trashy Troma film but on a short lived children's cartoon show... yes you've read that right... the Toxic Avenger had a cartoon show, for kids!
Many figures were released. Well during our last trip at the flea marker we found the Evil Alien Leader of Apocalypse Inc., Dr.Killemoff.
I am Dr. Killemoff -- evil genius. For years I have built my fantastic factories (with my own four hands, I might add) on your planet, under the guise of my company Apocalypse, Inc. Using the finest in Toxic technology, I have successfully scoured the sky with smog. Why? Because I'm part cockroach -- and I love to breathe fetid fumes through my Smog-sucking Back Pack. And so will you -- when I complete my poisonous pollution plan. First, I'll destroy that clean klutz Toxie and his clownish Crusaders -- then Tromaville will fall. Soon after, the entire world will look like my home planet, Smogula. And every day you help me get a little further by throwing litter on the streets! Keep up the good work, kids! The waste of the world is mine! A-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats!
Of course we had to get a bad guy and Isaac choosed the deluxe version of transformed Mumm-ra. This is yet another great new Thundercats action figure, which stands at 6" tall. It comes in a shield, long and short version of the Sword of Plundar and wings that opens.

Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats!
Earlier this week we went to our favorite local action figures store, Legends. They had just received tons of boxes with new stuff. As we were looking around, they started to unpacked everything. And guess what they had just got! The brand new 4" Thundercats figures from Bandai!
Isaac and I have been watching the new animated series on our iPad. We both really enjoy it. Good animation, great storytelling, interesting twists and characters.
Of course, Isaac decided to pick up some Thundercats figures! His first choice was not surprisingly Lion-O. The nicely detailed action figure comes with a short and long version of the Sword of Omens and the powerful glove. It has a total of 14 points of articulation. Its a very nice figure.

Flea Market Hunting : Lego Batman
One last item we found during that trip at the flea market was the Batboat from the Lego Batman playset #7780. If you are familiar with Lego Batman you know just how rare and expensive this is. We got it for only $10!
It is almost complete. Actually after downloading the manual online (thank you Internet) I noticed that it is missing one small piece, the one that holds one of the boat's wings. Thankfully I found that very piece on the Lego web site, available for purchase for only 17 cents!
This is a very cool 10 inch hydrofoil Batboat that features pivoting rotors and a small detachable boat in the back.
